Local 27 Teams Up with First Book for a Read-A-THon

Local 27 will be joining First Book's Read-A-Thon this Saturday to help raise money for children's books.  See details below on where to attend or how to donate.

Date: Saturday May 19th, 2012
Location: Elliot Bay Book Company (in Capitol Hill on 10th between Pike and Pine), downstairs reading room
Time: 11am to 3pm (drop by anytime, stay for one story or six)
Free and open to the public - kids especially welcome!

Wisconsin AFL-CIO Worker Defense Fund

Working people in Wisconsin are in the fight for their lives. On June 5^thvoters will consider recalls of Governor Walker, Lt. Governor Kleefisch and four GOP state Senators. Polls show the race as “too close to call” and the Governor and his cronies have pulled out all the fundraising stops. The Wisconsin State AFL-CIO needs our help to be successful in this recall election. Please consider making a contribution to the Wisconsin Worker Defense Fund today!
