It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter/Paramedic Ryan A. Hummert of IAFF Local 2665 - Professional Fire Fighters of Eastern Missouri. Brother Hummert, 22, died on Monday, July 21, 2008 as a result of wounds received after being shot by a gunman while responding to a car fire.

Campers say the week they spend at MDA Summer Camp is the "best week of the year." MDA Summer Camp is a place where the focus is on ability and where a child with a neuromuscular disease can just be a kid.

On Saturday, August 23 the SFD Pipes and Drums will be playing at the Old Pequiliar at 1722 NW Market St in Ballard for "Pig & Pipes."

 

The event starts at noon and tickets are $15 for dinner and music. The event is a fundraiser for Seattle's Bravest Charity and money will go towards sending SFD Pipes and Drums to Colorado Springs for the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial.
