In partnership with the International Association of Firefighters, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars "Sweats for Vets" has organized a National Awareness Cross-Country Run and Fundraiser.

The 3,000 mile cross-country run will start at Seattle Fire Department Station 5 on September 15th  at 0730 hours(Labor Day) and will end on November 15th at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. We will be running through the states of: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington D.C.

Local 27 is selling GREAT tickets to the Seattle Storm vs. Atlanta game on Friday, September 12. Tickets are 1 for $25, 2 for $45, 4 for $80 (normally $32 per ticket!). A portion of each ticket sold will go towards MDA, and if you’re inclined, bring a boot to collect before the game and during half-time.  All 100 tickets are in the same section.
