Seattle, Wash.: July 16, 2007 – Medic One Foundation, Philips Medical Systems and the Seattle Mariners join together to honor a Seattle paramedic with the “Spirit of Team Play” Award. Norman S. Nedell, Seattle Medic One, has been selected by the Medic One Foundation to receive the “Spirit of Team Play” Award at the July 26 Seattle Mariners game at Safeco Field. Sponsored by the Seattle Mariners, Philips Medical Systems and the Medic One Foundation, the annual award recognizes paramedics who show exemplary commitment to teamwork, integrity, compassion and commitment to serving their communities.Nominations for the award were submitted by paramedics and firefighters throughout King and South Snohomish counties. “Norm is very deserving of this award. He is sincere, modest, committed and compassionate,” said Seattle Assistant Fire Chief A.D. Vickery. The presentation of the award will be part of the Seattle Mariners pre-game activities on July 26th (game at 7:05pm) at Safeco Field, as part of a Mariners 2007 home-game program with Philips and the Medic One Foundation. The Medic One Foundation raises money to support excellent pre-hospital emergency care. Our programs include state-of-the-art paramedic training, targeted research to improve survival rates and prevent sudden cardiac death, and independent medical oversight of Medic One services to ensure quality care. |
