The Seattle Fire Department has been instrumental in the success of the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Lock Up program and without them this program would not be possible.  Each year alone our Lock Up program locally raises more than 25 percent of our total budget, which is an estimated $360,000. This year between our Northgate Lock Up at the Ram and our South Lake Union Telethon Executive Lock Up at the Space Needle we raised and estimated $50,000!  We would like to thank two individuals in particular, Gene Goodner and Brandon Smith, for all of their support and dedication to help us coordinate and recruit firefighters.  Both Gene and Brandon have taken it upon themselves to actively correspond and spread the word to fellow firefighters.  They have been eager to help in any way and as they were asked to help recruit firefighters, they took the task and ran with it.  At the Northgate Lock Up we had five Seattle Firefighters and for our South Lake Union Lock Up we had thirteen Seattle Firefighters.  Thank you, Seattle Fire, for all of your support!
