New at Station 2 Clinic: Follow-Up Care Between Your Annual Exams

Author: seattle fire fighters healthcare trust   |   December 1, 2025

Your Annual Fire Fighter Medical Evaluation (AFFME) is critical—but a lot can happen in 12 months. Station 2 Clinic now offers follow-up visits to help you stay on top of your health year-round, available in person, virtually, or by phone.

What These Visits Are For

These 10 to 30-minute appointments are designed to keep the momentum going on health issues or goals that come up during your AFFME. Here are some examples of when a follow-up visit makes sense:

  • Following up on test results.
  • Building a plan to reduce health risks.
  • Moving forward with referrals or testing.
  • Getting connected to the right care.
  • Managing medications in the interim.

What These Are Not For

These follow-up appointments are specifically for issues that came up during your most recent AFFME. They’re not for evaluating new
problems, injuries, or acute concerns that develop between exams—you’ll need to contact your primary care provider or appropriate medical service for these issues. They are also not for travel medicine needs.

How to Get Started

Ask your Station 2 Clinic healthcare provider about follow-up visits during your annual exam, or call the clinic at (206) 971-1365 to request a follow-up visit. Note that these cannot be self-scheduled in the Athena Health portal, unlike AFFME and mental health appointments.
